If you’ve found your way to this page, chances are you’re tired of feeling unwell, frustrated by vague symptoms, or simply not getting the answers you need. I understand — I’ve been there too.
I’m Anika — a CNHC registered Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath (Assoc.).
My journey into natural healthcare began long before my professional career. Watching my grandparents using herbs and food as medicine instilled in me a deep understanding of the connection between us and nature. Food was not only tasty, it was also healing.
This early childhood experience was pivotal in transforming my own health. When I felt let down by conventional approaches, diet, targeted natural supplements, and lifestyle changes helped me reclaim my digestive health, sleep, and restore hormonal balance. As they say, what you live, you learn and that was certainly true for me.
I completed my studies with the Natural Healthcare College, a London-based specialist institution known for its rigorous training in nutritional therapy and integrative health
at Level 6 (University Level), equivalent to an honours degree.
During my training, I had the honour to be personally supervised by Jackie Day, a key figure in UK naturopathic education, who developed the Core Elements for Naturopathic Education in UK.
This was not the end of my education though. Someone clever once said "We only see what we look for, and we only look for what we know". Therefore, this is my passion to learn more and know more so I can deliver better results for my clients.
My postgraduate trainings and courses include:
· Systems Approach to Cancer provided by Dr. Nina Fuller-Shavel (ongoing)
· SIBO Pro Course - a ACCME accredited practitioner training with Dr Alison Siebecker
· Certified Healthy Gut Practitioner course provided by Dr Jason Hawrelak (ongoing)
· The Liver and Gallbladder in Health and Disease provided by The SIBO Doctor
· Nutrigenomics Practitioner Programme provided by Lifecode Gx®
· Cancer as a Metabolic Disease provided by Nutrition Network
· Master Herbalist Diploma (level 4)
· Advanced Stress Management Advisor Diploma (level 5)
"Fantastic first consultation with Anika. I have been struggling with Pre menopause weight gain, mood swings and tiredness. Anika's knowledge in healthy eating and guidance has been invaluable. After only a week I am starting to feel much more energized.I am now more educated on how your food choices have on your overall well being." (Claire T.)
"Anika treated me over the last few months as I was having trouble with my gut and my skin. I have seen fantastic results in both respects and have found Anika to be incredibly helpful, often reply to my many questions outside of the sessions and taking a science led approach to nutrition. I appreciated how she took the time to explain the mechanisms behind the treatments she suggested." (Joseph D.)
" Anika’s support and kind professionalism has been second to none. With clear guidance and attentive listening to me, she has and is helping me with my health, diet, weight loss, food intolerances and allergies. I’ve also had a significant issue with chronic hives for 44 years, and after a couple of months of careful food planning and changing my diet, the hives are settling significantly which has been life changing for me and so encouraging. I would highly encourage her services. Thank you so much Anika." (Jane F.)

Nutritional therapy is a holistic approach that promotes health through healthy diets and lifestyle changes. It can be invaluable in supporting you towards a specific goal e.g. weight loss, managing a chronic health condition e.g. diabetes - alongside medicinal support - or helping you to make healthy habits that will support long and healthy life.
Here are some notable benefits of nutritional therapy I offer in my Holistic Nutritionist practice:
1. Adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle, as suggested by nutritional therapy, is often associated with a lower risk of various diseases. Prevention is better than cure!
2. Weight management: It can assist in maintaining a healthy weight, which is crucial for overall health. In my practice, I offer sustainable weight loss treatment plans that nourish the body rather than depriving it of vital nutrients and energy, unlike many high-stress plans!
3. Gut health: A balanced diet can support gut health, leading to better digestion and absorption of nutrients, which is prerequisite to good health. Nutritional therapy can help manage symptoms of various digestive complaints, such as acid reflux, bloating, indigestion. As your Nutritional Therapist, I will guide you on the best practices to support balanced micorbiome and digestive health.
4. Energy enhancement: Proper nutrition can boost energy levels, supporting productivity and overall quality of life. Here at Plymouth Holistic Nutrition, we look at the root causes of low energy and fatigue. Adjusting your diet often brings incredible results!
5. Mental health support: Certain nutrients play a significant role in cognition and can support mental health.
6. Hormonal balance: Nutrition can influence hormone production and balance, affecting various bodily functions. Diet rich in phyto-estrogens, in combination with natural supplements, and stress reducing practices, is the best natural way to natural balance your hormones.
In addition to these, nutritional therapy can also contribute to better sleep, balanced imune system, glowing and healthy skin; it may also support your ability to recover and rebound from challenges of modern life!
It’s important to remember that the benefits can vary from person to person, as everyone’s body and nutritional needs are unique!

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that focuses on supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. It combines traditional healing methods with modern science, emphasizing natural remedies like herbs, diet, and lifestyle changes. Instead of just treating symptoms, naturopathy aims to find and address the root cause of health issues. For example, the root cause of difficulties in loosing weight is often imbalanced blood sugar. Addressing this, will support healthy weight.
Naturopaths believe in the healing power of nature, using techniques like nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sometimes therapies like massage to promote overall well-being.
It’s all about encouraging balance and harmony in the body and mind, so you can feel your best!

Nutritional Therapist and dietitians both play vital roles in health, but Nutritional Therapist often take a more holistic, personalized, root cause approach to addressing health issues. While dietitians may focus on dietary management of specific conditions, Nutritional Therapist often consider the broader context of an individual’s lifestyle, preferences, and underlying causes of health problems. This approach allows Nutritional Therapist to address issues such as food sensitivities, chronic inflammation, and overall wellness through tailored recommendations that go beyond standard dietary guidelines. This flexibility and focus on individuality can be particularly beneficial for long-term health issues and chronic conditions.
